How to Play Deuce to Seven
Lowball
Deuce to Seven Lowball Rules
Deuce to seven lowball (also
known as Ace to Five lowball triple draw) is
very similar to five card draw. The main
difference is that it is played using lowball
rules and there are also three draws in deuce to
seven lowball rather than the one draw in five
card draw. The best hand that you can get in
deuce to seven lowball poker is 7-5-4-3-2
irrespective of suit. In deuce to seven flushes
and straights are counted as high hands.
Deuce to seven lowball starts
out with the two players to the left of the
dealer posting the small and big blind
respectively. The small blind is half the lower
stake limit and the big blind is equal to the
lower stake limit. For example, in a $2/$4
betting structure, the small blind is $1 and the
big blind is $2.
Blinds are use in deuce to
seven lowball to help force the action. The
blinds are live bets so players who posted the
blinds are able to check in addition to raising
the bet, calling and folding.
After the blinds are posted
each player receives five cards. Then the first
of the four betting rounds begins. In every
round of betting the players can fold, check or
bet.
After the first round of
betting has ended, any players still in the hand
can discard and draw up to five new cards in
order to try and improve their hand. This is
followed by the second round of betting.
The second round of betting is
then followed by a second draw. The third round
of betting then follows.
Once the third round of
betting has been completed, the remaining
players have the option of discarding and
drawing new cards to try and improve their hand.
This is the third and final draw.
Then the final round of
betting takes place.
The showdown takes place after
the final betting round. All of the players
remaining in the hand reveal their cards and the
player with the best hand wins the pot.
